چکیده

After being realized practically in 2008, the scientists have started investigating the applications of the memristor element in different engineering fields. In this paper, hoping to be helpful in the modelling of real biomedical systems and the design of secure communication systems, the fourelement Chua circuit containing the memristor is examined and analyzed. When the parameters of the circuit are changed, various dynamic behaviour sequences such as limit cycle oscillations and chaotic attractors are obtained.

Topological Analysis of Chaotic Solution of a Three-Element Memristive Circuit

In classical electronics, there are three passive circuit elements: the resistor, the capacitor and the inductor. In 1971, Leon Chua introduced a fourth “missing” element which he named a memristor — for memory resistor — by using symmetry arguments [Chua, 1971]. Chua also derived the properties of this element. However, it is only in 2008 that Strukov and co-workers [Strukov et al., 2008] foun...

Memristor Equations: Incomplete Physics and Undefined Passivity/Activity

In his seminal paper, Chua presented a fundamental physical claim by introducing the memristor, "The missing circuit element". The memristor equations originally supposed to represent a passive circuit element because, with active circuitry, arbitrary elements can be realized without limitations. Therefore, if the memristor equations do not guarantee that the circuit element can be realized by ...

The three basic electrical circuit elements, namely, capacitor, which was invented by Ewald Georg von Kleist in 1745, resistor, which was invented by Georg Simon Ohm in 1827, and inductor, which was invented by Michael Faraday in 1831, were constructed by experimental physicists to observe the lumped behavior of relevant measurable electrical parameters across the devices. In 1971, Leon Chua po...

Simplest Chaotic Circuit

A chaotic attractor has been observed with an autonomous circuit that uses only two energystorage elements: a linear passive inductor and a linear passive capacitor. The other element is a nonlinear active memristor. Hence, the circuit has only three circuit elements in series. We discuss this circuit topology, show several attractors and illustrate local activity via the memristor’s DC vM − iM...

The memristor and the scientific method

In 1971 a “missing memristor” was proposed by a circuit theorist named Leon Chua as a 4 fundamental passive circuit element defined by a non-linear relationship between electric charge and magnetic flux linkage. In 2008 a research group from Hewlett-Packard led by Stan Williams claimed credit for finding this “missing memristor” based on the observation of a zero-crossing hysteresis effect. I r...
